Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Color Log is a photo-and-color daily journal app: each day you're given a color, you find it in the world, photograph it, and log it with a short note and a timestamp. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to Color Log for iOS and, once available, Android. It does not apply to other services or websites you may reach through links inside the app.
2. Information we collect
We try to collect the minimum needed to make Color Log work.
- Photos & captions — the square photos you take of Today's Color, your written captions, and the time each entry was logged. Stored so your Log, Calendar, and Highlights can display your history.
- Profile & friends — your username and the friend connections you make by ID or QR code, so Timeline and friend lists can work.
- Subscription status — whether you're on the free or Premium plan, managed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and RevenueCat. We don't see or store your card details.
- Advertising data — on the free plan, Google AdMob may collect device and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads. See section 5.
Camera and photo library access
Color Log asks for camera access to photograph Today's Color, and photo library access to save your finished Highlight images. Photos you take inside the app are used to build your Log and Calendar; nothing is uploaded from your camera roll without your action.
3. How we use it
- To build and display your Log, Calendar, and Highlights.
- To show Today's Color, run the Home screen clock, and connect you with friends you've added.
- To unlock Premium features once a subscription is active, and to keep that status in sync across your devices.
- To show ads to free-plan users and measure how they perform, through Google AdMob.
- To diagnose crashes and keep the app working reliably.
We do not use your photos or captions to train machine learning models, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. Advertising & tracking
Free-plan users see a banner ad and, after saving a Highlight collage, an interstitial ad, both served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID), general location, and app-usage signals to select and measure ads.
App Tracking Transparency: on iOS, Color Log asks for your permission before any tracking that requires it under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, you'll still see ads — they'll just be less personalized.
Premium subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to AdMob's ad-related data collection.
6. Sharing & retention
We share information only with the service providers listed in section 4, and only as needed for them to do their job — processing a payment, serving an ad, or checking your subscription status. We don't sell personal information or share it with data brokers.
Your Log entries, photos, and profile are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete the app, locally cached photos are removed from your device; to request deletion of data held on our side, contact us using the details in section 10.
7. Children's privacy
Color Log is designed for high school and college-age users and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Your choices
- Camera & photo permissions can be reviewed or revoked any time in your device's Settings.
- Ad personalization can be limited through your device's Advertising ID / App Tracking Transparency settings.
- Access or deletion of your Color Log data can be requested by emailing us — see section 10.
- Subscription management (cancel, view receipts) is handled through your Apple ID account settings, not inside Color Log.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Color Log after a change means you accept the updated policy.
